Basic hi man need
He is wants to be appreciated and uses his access to information as a way to get attention and in his mind a kind of power.

It’s all about him. He doesn’t care about West Ham because he would not give the opposition any help or info however small if he did .

He has a “need” to feel important which probably points to low self-esteem and a sense of inadequacy. My amateur psychology insight leads me to believe he was bullied at school or abused as a child ;-).

Bullshit, I think saying hi is for many a sign of politeness if that is what this is about.

I smile at everyone even those I do not know on my street, so what if I say Hi too, am I really looking for something? I do not even think afterwards that i did it never mind a reason for why.
